Why Indian government needs to go easy with Tech companies with the new IT policy change.

Last week one news that made headlines in the national media of India was the changes brought upon by the government that affects the social media companies. According to the new policy social media companies are required to provide the name of the grievance readdressal officer and also required to disclose the name of the person who is the originator of any harmful message such as fake news, provocative messages, obscene content etc.

I do agree to some extent that government is right in asking them to comply with the new rules which is good and will be helpful but their are some technical and practical limitations to this which government did not take into account before enforcing it. This new policy change will put a lot of burden on social media companies because the amount of content that's generated daily is humongous, just to give an idea, somewhere around 50 crore tweets per day on the twitter platform and the amount the complaints registered is also big enough.

It will be humanly impossible for companies to go through each and every complaints and try to rectify it. Not only they will have to extend the capability of their current system but also hire new employees to take care of the complaints. So much trouble just because of one policy change is not good from business point of view. And it's no guarantee that their will not be any more changes like this in future.

Another important thing that I like to bring to your attention is that this companies are portrayed as careless, antinational by the government and the so called godi media. I think they forget that tech companies have contributed significantly to the GDP of India. And they are number one job creators for this country for many years. At this times when India is facing crisis due to COVID, job loses are frequent and not to mention the health of the GDP of the nation, why on earth government would burden this companies with such request.

Tech companies especially facebook, twitter are not just a social media platforms it has over the years they have empowered the citizens by making their voices heard all around the world. Not only that it has generated many direct and indirect jobs, a lot of small and medium sized business are able to grow and expand themselves by using the power of social media. So I urge government not to see them just like any companies but also consider the positive roles and impact they had on the lives of the common people.

Calling this companies antinational and portraying them in a negative shade as if they are only one's benefitting from doing business on Indian soil is a very careless statement and propaganda to defame them and shows a lot of prejudice against them. We should be grateful that we have such wonderful services not just to connect with one another but also to run business free of cost and we should take as much benefit as possible.

Last point that I would make in favor of this companies is that godi media has many times labeled them as unfair and partial but one instance I would like to bring everyone's attention is that companies like twitter have once blocked and suspended the tweets and accounts of US ex-president Donald Trump because it was factless and untrue. So that shows two things one that they are not biased and that they are proactive and sensible and serious towards contents that are provocative or fake.

Finally I hope that this tech companies can come with some creative solution to this new policy change because I enjoy this platform very much and I wish to enjoy their services in the future as well.

Why I believe farmers should embrace "Farm Bill 2020"

Ever since the farmers protest started in Aug 2020 last year till now a lot of development taken place including eleven rounds of talks between the central government and farmers union, the most unfortunate republic day parade incident, barricading of the protest site(singhu border). Their are somewhere around 10 demands on which farmers are protesting of which revocation of "Farm Bill 2020" is at the centre of all this.

Few demands such as withdrawal of cases against farmers leaders, cutting diesel prices for agriculture, abolishment of "Electricity ordinance 2020" are completely justified. On 30th december centre has also agreed to the demands of dropping amendments to the new electricity ordinance. One more demand of farmers that central govt has agreed to is excluding farmers from law curbing stubble burning which is going to have profound impact on people of Delhi and around. Its like giving them the right to destroy the environment, when in fact government should have been strict in this law because pollution free environment is everybody's right. We all know how grave the condition of Delhi becomes every year due to stubble burning , from small children to elderly people will have to pay a huge price for this with their health.

Coming to the central issue of all this protest i.e "Farm Bill 2020" which seeks to change the way farm produce are procured and encourage contract farming or privatisation of farming that farmers are so adamant in getting repealed. I donot know if farmers or their leaders in this protest have gone through the pros and cons of this law completely. Farmers need to rethink if protesting against the farm bills will benefit them in the long run . Because the way i see it can help to bring out a lot of farmers from poverty , increase their productivity and sell more.

The current situation of most of farmers is that most of the farmers are poor they do not make enough to spend on their family or pay their loans instead they are getting buried in loans and ultimately lead them to suicide. This problem can be attributed mostly to low farm produce , bad weather, not able to sell their produce in different markets than the traditional market due to lack of proper supply chain system.

But at the same time there are lots of new age farmers like Prateek, a resident of Bhopal, worked as a product manager in a bank now enjoys farming more than the previous job and also making profit of 1.5 lakh per acre and plans to take it to 4 lakh per acre. If we analyze bothe then it is clear that this new age farmers have not only money to spend, but also use technologies to its maximum, and also shows the ability to improvise as and when needed due to which they are able to produce more and derive profits regardless of whatever the weather conditions or government policies are. This new age farmers are able to produce not only in bad weather conditions but also in small spaces inside cities or in terrace, at the same time they are doing what is called eco-friendly farming which is a win-win situation for all.

Traditional farmers using traditional farming practices need to keep in mind that they won't go very far like this, if they donot change their farming practices or if they avoid using technologies in farming let alone competing with other farmers, after all farming is also a business. So in order to survive or thrive in this area they need to embrace new farming practices which they donot seem to be able to adopt so far due to lack of knowledge, lack of money.

Now farmers themselves cannot revolutionize the farming methods due to lack of fund mostly, so they are going to have to take support from corporates, who will bring not only bring money and technology but also the infrastructure that was missing. If farmers are under the impression that without all this they would just rely on government subsidies to get by, then it would not be a sustainable approach and in the long run will make the situation even worse for farmers. Climate change is already very much evident , for example nowadays the weather pattern is very unpredictable, this will also make farming very difficult.

So my suggestion is "Better be late than sorry".

Why I rate "CONFIDENCE" more over "KNOWLEDGE"?

Human beings are very complicated creatures of all, its very difficult to understand human beings. Our whole understanding will not be enough to fully understand the ways of life and how it plays out, for example it always baffles me how some people even after having knowledge and educational qualification fails to excel in life and then their are some who donot have even basic qualifications or knowledge but still excel or achieve. If you have knowledge their no guarantee that you will be rich and happy. Their are numerous example around us, I am sure you must have met both kinds of people or you can also find yourself in one or the other category.

I myself being highly qualified and have the right set of knowledge and capability still finds it difficult to professionally and personally excel , everyday seems kind of a hustle for even as simple as survival. Its just not me but observed many times that people value other traits such as confidence and personality over knowledge, take for example prime minister Narendra Modi, his charisma and larger than life personality hides the fact he is biased towards a certain community and religious group, which otherwise would have been deteriorating to someone's image. I think its part of human nature to not look beyond what is obvious. How many times have you befriended someone due to their intellect? Even when it comes to choosing partner most would prefer looks or confidence over intelligence.

Well my reason to rate confidence higher than knowledge is because confidence seems to attract people more easily towards you, it can also help you easily influence others and it also make you emotionally strong. I am not advocating that one should only work in their confidence and completely ignore sharpening your knowledge or skills, knowledge does have its importance, but if given an option to choose between the two, I might go for confidence.

I am 32 years old but feels like missing the right level of confidence that a person of my age should have. Most of our confidence comes from how financially strong we are, or how attractive we look. Cosmetics companies have established a billion dollar market out of young men and women desires to look attractive. Now its hardwired in our brain that good looks equal to more confidence. But I wish that it was knowledge or inner strengths that fueled our confidence.

Is it justified to criticize celebrities vacationing in Maldives?

Few days ago social media sites like Twitter, Facebook were full of criticism for celebrities who were busy vacationing in maldives, few comments were simply trolling them, other comments that drew my attention were the ones that seems to be reminding the celebrities about their moral duties and obligations.

Twitteraties trolling bollywood celebs were hilarious you have to admit, but tweets which were talking about morality were not just. Such tweets were disturbing beacause it brings your attention to the mindset people have about others especially towards rich and famous people.

This people who took time to criticize celebrities forgets the same celebrities have donated crore out of their pockets to COVID-19 relief fund or PM-CARES fund generously and others have spent their time in bringing awareness to the social issues.

The big question is how much we have contributed so far. Its rhetorical so no need to answer. Its a prevailing thought among people that if few people are going through certain unfortunate situation, rest of the people also have to behave in a certain way or else they will be deemed as immoral.

Every person is an individual and has the absolute freedom to do whatever they feel like. Their freedom to express themselves cannot be curtailed based on what's going on in the world. Every individual in this world have their own struggles and they should have the freedom to shape their life as they wish.

What matter is whether we as a human contributing towards the society or not in our lifetime. Celebrities have done that before and through their numerous fund raising programs time and again they do help people and contribute towards better society in their own capacity. Sorry to be rude but common people like us are more likely to not donate and save for our family instead only but still have the audacity to shame others.

How many times have seen an Ad from milaap, ketto foundation on youtube or other social media sites asking donation for people who urgently need to pay hospital bills for surgery and medicine and that you have taken time to generously donate.

This mindset needs to change that if we cannot enjoy then others are also not supposed to. This is a regressive kind of mindset that we need to break free from. But I also understand that this is used as a tool by some people to berate others or shame others to make themselves feel proud of their life.

Will Royal Challengers Bangalore win IPL 2021?

Royal Challengers Bangalore is undoubtedly one of the most talented set of players in IPL 2021. They have everything a team must have ranging from a wonderful world class captain to some of the most fearsome strikers like Maxwell, AB de villiers. On the bowling front it has young energetic bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra chahal. Perosnally this is my favorite team to win IPL 2021.
But the past couple of matches has shown that RCB struggles when they are up against strong teams like Chennai Super kings(CSK) or Delhi Capitals(DC). It was such an embarrassment to watch them struggle so hard against CSK followed by such a shameful defeat. Moreover their win against Delhi Capitals was a mere stroke of luck.

Few reasons that are pulling this team down are number one the top 2 batsmen i.e Virat kohli and Padikal fails to give a start that any team would expect, Virat being one of the top 5 batsmen of the International cricket failed to stand up to his name and fame. Padikal being a newcomer seems to lack enthusiasm to excel or make a name for himself in International cricket. At a time when a lot of Indian cricket players are dying to get a chance to play for the country, this young players seem to have a cold feet when they finally get a chance to showcase their talent on International platform. Even if they managed to score enough runs, the strike rate would be too low to win, their game would be rather more about saving their own skin. Sorry to be rude but that's how you end your career before it even starts.
Then their are middle order batsmen like Patidar whose game gives me feeling of watching a test match. Maybe in test matches he will do better but Twenty-20 does not seems to be his cup of tea.
Maxwell is my all time favorite batsman and the reason I watch IPL matches because of the way he play especially those 360 degree shots which as a fan excites me towards the game. But he needs to understand that not every ball is not meant for boundary. He seems to be overconfident of his muscle strength which clearly betrays him at the crucial moment.

Nevertheless RCB is the real contender for IPL 2021 trophy and I would personally like to see them defeating CSK in the finals.

Real reasons behind the second wave of COVID 19.

Very sad to see what a bad state India is in during the second wave of COVID-19. It has exposed the countries infrastructure and readiness to handle health crisis like this. Few points that comes to mind that made the situation out of control which i want to share here.

Number one reason which is very obvious is the overpopulation which made it difficult to contain or limit coronavirus impact, as most of the states in the country have high population density . On top of that the careless attitude of the people towards wearing mask or maintaining social distancing. Well most people do not care about social distancing because for most indians not being able to earn and provide form family is more dreadful than an invisible virus. On the top of that even state governmnet like that of Uttrakhand encouraged people to come out of their home and join Khumbh mela.

Nevertheless situation of India as of 28 Apr 2021 is grave and needs immediate action from government side. We can take respite on the fact that both central and state governments have sprung into action after a lot of criticism from public and judiciary but they will be criticized forever for their delay in tackling the situation and undermining the COVID situation in India.
It seems as if in an attempt to hide the rela facts and figures from the public to fool them into thinking that "sab changa si", government got fooled themselves which explains why they were so lazy and unprepared  for what was to come.

Another reason that can be attributed for the current grave situation of India is that politicians who were supposed to be working day and night to fight COVID-19 alongside our frontline warriors were busy fighting political opponents in Bengal and earlier Bihar over issues of caste and religion.
Our own beloved PM was busy doing political rallies flouting all COVID protocols( 2 gaj ki doori mask hai jaroori), but Prime minister himself could not seem to stand up to his own words. Had all political parties agreed to a digital campaign in Bengal that would have sent a good message in the society and also to all young politicians and leaders who are observing our current leaders. Their careless attitude caused a surge in COVID cases in West Bengal.

All such deeds of politicians is a reminder why people should be more careful in who they elect to serve them and why people should start caring about actual social issues such as hospitals, infrastructure, education etc.

Well whatever goes up has to come down that's the law of nature, so very soon we shall see an end to this pandemic and normal life back on track as if nothing happened.

But its important that we learn from our mistakes and keep in mind the lesson that the COVID-19 has taught us.
